From 1974 (VIN 20755 in N America, VIN 22118 Rest of world) an electronic Lucas Opus ignition system was fitted in conjunction with a Lucas 22C12 1.5 ohm coil and a ballast resistor.

New ignition modules are no longer available but we supply a reconditioned exchange unit CD5904SXR if you prefer originality in your car.
However, we recommend the modern Pertronix Ignitor kit (ELEC5) in conjunction with a Flamethrower coil (COIL1 or COIL2) as a great improvement on the original system which has become increasingly unreliable with time.
