Reconditioned Racks

Originally all Series 2 models were fitted with a steering rack with rectangular mounting brackets. From 1989 all models were fitted with a steering rack with oval brackets. These racks were subsequently supplied as a modification for earlier rectangular bracket models, albeit with a modified lower steering column and extra mounting brackets between the rack and the subframe. When ordering a replacement steering rack please check which type is fitted to your car. If you have an oval bracket rack please order UR71816R for RHD and UR71817R for LHD.
