“Initially, the Arnage was launched in 1998 with a 4.4 litre BMW engine which was not well received in traditional Bentley circles. Just two years later, the well established 6.75 litre V8 was offered and this is an early example of that ‘Red Label’ model. A car that has obviously been well used and enjoyed throughout its life, covering in excess of 144,000 miles. However, having had numerous custodians over the years, early service records indicate comprehensive maintenance, later ones less so. In addition to underbody corrosion and electrical problems, the car is now suffering from overheating issues and is therefore in need of major work to the engine, making it far from economical to return to the road. Our recycling team are particularly keen to investigate the apparent piece of tree that is keeping the boot lid open, rather than the more usual gas struts. Not a modification that Bentley recommend, we understand.”
